Final sale

We will be selling raspberries, saskatoons, and honey on Monday August 3 from 1-6 or until we sell out. It has been a difficult year with too much rain and too little sun. Our mandate is to bring you the freshest and best berries that we can, sell them at a reasonable cost, and benefit inner city youth and orphans in Mexico. The youth have learned what it takes to produce a berry crop, earned some money for themselves, and have helped to sponsor two orphans. We are planning for a mission trip next year to visit the orphans. We look forward to serving you and them again next year. Ken and Elly for Berries for Orphans.

We have come to the end of the strawberry season for this year and thank the many people who supported this project. We still intend to bring you saskatoons and raspberries at least one more time this year, but as of yet, no specific date has been set. We'll let you know as soon as possible. Thanks.

Next Picking

Our next projected delivery of pre-picked strawberries to the parking lot of 1420 Portage Avenue is Friday, July 17. Due to unpredictable weather (lots of rain, not enough sun) we will not be able to deliver as frequently as anticipated. We thank you for your patience and your continued support of our project.
Our first picking was July 11. We had 12 youth plus adult supervision. Some had picked before, but for others it was a totally new experience. We look forward to gathering again to share the farm experience with the kids.

Delay

Sorry folks! It looks like we haven't been getting enough sun for the berries to ripen. Our new projected start date is Saturday, July 11. We apologize for the delay and hope that this hasn't caused you any inconvenience. We expect to have strawberries for 2 weeks. Raspberries will most likely be ready by the last week of July.

Weather permitting, we will be at 1420 Portage beginning July 9!

The bus has taken on a new identity now. It was painted white and new decals put on. Thanks to Hermann Saxler of Herm's Signs, River Hills, Manitoba who provided the decals and installation at low cost.

These are photos of our bus with the old paint and decals partly removed. This is used to transport the youth and berries on our work days and for the mission trip to Mexico to visit the orphanage.
